What food plants run on a shift
Food plants clean, cook, mix, chill and pack food and drink under strict hygiene rules. Among SuperGig’s hubs, Bidadi, on Mysuru Road south-west of Bengaluru, is the one best known for food-processing plants, and shifts from food units elsewhere on the corridor show on the same map whenever they are posted.
A processing line moves in a set order: raw material is received and checked, prepared and processed, filled or packed, sealed, coded and labelled, then cartoned and stored for dispatch, often in cold rooms. Lab technicians sample each batch, and boiler, refrigeration and utility technicians keep the steam, the cooling and the compressed air running.
Hygiene comes first: hairnets, gloves, clean uniforms, no jewellery and hand-washing at every entry, as each plant’s rules say, and a shift can list what to bring or wear in its details. #2016 HACCP / FSSAI (Food) Certified is a certificate skill in the app that counts only once SuperGig verifies it.
