What garment units run on a shift
Garment units cut, sew, check and pack clothing, and textile units spin, weave, dye and finish the fabric it is made from. Among SuperGig’s hubs, Doddaballapura, north of Bengaluru beyond Yelahanka, is the one best known for garment and textile units, and shifts from units elsewhere on the corridor show on the same map whenever they are posted.
A garment floor runs in sections. The cutting room lays and cuts fabric to the pattern; sewing lines of machine operators stitch the pieces, each operator on one operation; checkers inspect every piece for faults and measurements; and finishing irons, tags, folds and packs the garments to the buyer’s standard. Textile and processing plants add machine minders, boiler and effluent-treatment operators, and stores.
Machine stitching is #1015 Sewing Machine Operator (Garment) in the app, and cutting and checking is #1016 Garment Cutting / Checking. Every skill starts at L1 when you add it, and only SuperGig raises a level, from the shifts units approve. Some shifts have no skill check at all, so any KYC-verified Partner can book them.
