What QC inspector work involves
01What the work is
#1301 Quality Inspector (QC) is the catalogue’s general inspection skill. The inspector works from the drawing and the inspection standard or control plan, which say what to check, how, how often and with which instrument. That can be dimensions with a vernier, micrometer or height gauge, threads and holes with plug and ring gauges, appearance against limit samples under good light, weights, torques, or simple functional checks. Results go onto check sheets or into software, and parts that fail are tagged, separated and reported so the cause can be found. Specialist skills sit beside it: incoming (#1302), in-process (#1303) and final (#1304) inspection, CMM and NDT.
02A shift, start to finish
An inspection shift begins with the instruments: each one must carry a valid calibration label, be zeroed and be clean, and the master or setting gauge used to check it. You collect the samples the plan asks for at the right times, measure them carefully with clean hands and clean parts, and write readings as you take them, never from memory at the end. A reading near the limit is checked again and reported, so the operator can adjust before parts go bad. Rejected parts get a red tag and go to the quarantine area, and the shift ends with check sheets complete, instruments put back in their boxes and a hand-over of any open issues.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
#1301 starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Plants can list #1301 on a shift with a minimum level, and some combine it with measurement or machine skills. Approved #1301 shifts, verified on-time arrivals and plant ratings build your record, and SuperGig raises your level from it.

How your level rises
#1301 Quality Inspector (QC) starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
Licences and standards for QC inspector work
Practices that go with the work
- #2014 ISO 9001 / IATF 16949Practice
No licence is needed to add #1301. Most plants run ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems; #2014 is a practice in the app, not a licence.
