What IQC and incoming inspector work involves
01What the work is
Every coil of steel, bag of plastic granules, box of fasteners, reel of components and casting from a supplier passes through incoming inspection before production can use it. The IQC inspector matches the delivery with the goods receipt note, the invoice and the purchase order, reads the supplier’s test certificate, such as the mill test certificate for steel or the certificate of conformance for components, and then draws a sample according to the sampling plan. The sample is measured and tested, for dimensions, hardness, thickness, appearance or function, and the lot is labelled accepted, rejected or on hold, with the status updated in the stores system.
02A shift, start to finish
An IQC shift follows the trucks. You check the documents first, because a wrong grade or a missing certificate can stop a lot before any measuring. Then you pull the sample size the AQL table gives for the lot size and inspection level, check each item against the specification and the drawing, and record the results. Accepted lots get a green label and move to stores; rejected lots go to the quarantine area with a red label and a non-conformance report for the supplier; doubtful ones are held for the quality engineer. Electronic components are handled under ESD rules, and every lot’s record stays traceable.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
#1302 starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Plants can list #1302 on a shift with a minimum level, perhaps asking for more when inspection includes certificates and lab tests. Approved #1302 shifts, verified on-time arrivals and plant ratings make up the record SuperGig raises your level from.

How your level rises
#1302 Incoming / IQC Inspector starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
