Lab technician and chemical analyst jobs in Hosur & Bengaluru

Also calledlab technician,chemical analyst,QC chemist,laboratory assistant,lab chemist,metallurgy lab technician,testing lab technician

A factory lab technician or chemical analyst tests raw materials, process samples and finished products, by titration, pH and moisture checks, spectrometer analysis of metals, and physical tests such as hardness and tensile strength, and records the results that release or hold a batch. In SuperGig Partner this is skill #1308: add it after KYC and book the lab shifts plants in Hosur and Bengaluru post, with the pay shown before you book.

The work

What lab technician and chemical analyst work involves

01What the work is

Plant laboratories decide whether materials and products meet their specification. In a foundry or forge, the lab analyses the chemistry of each melt on a spectrometer and tests hardness, tensile strength and microstructure. In plating and paint shops it checks bath concentrations and pH. In food and pharma plants it tests moisture, pH, concentration and other parameters against the specification and the pharmacopoeia or food standard, and in effluent and boiler plants it analyses water. The technician collects samples, prepares reagents and standards, runs the tests by written methods, checks the instruments are calibrated, and records results so they can be traced.

02A shift, start to finish

A lab shift starts with the sample log and the instrument checks: the balance verified with standard weights, the pH meter calibrated with buffers, the spectrometer standardised. Samples are logged as they arrive, prepared carefully, and tested in the order the plant needs them, with urgent process samples first. Every result goes into the lab register or system as soon as it is read, with the method and instrument used, and anything out of specification is repeated and reported at once, not quietly retested until it passes. Glassware is washed, chemicals returned to their places, and waste disposed of by the rules.

03Your skill in SuperGig Partner

#1308 starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Plants can list #1308 on a shift with a minimum level, and pharma and food plants may also list verified GMP or HACCP certificates. SuperGig raises your level from approved #1308 shifts, verified on-time arrivals and plant ratings.

On the shift

What you do on lab technician and chemical analyst shifts

The usual tasks of the trade. Every shift in SuperGig Partner has its own job description with the duties, so you know the work before you book.

  1. 01

    Log the samples

Log each sample with its source, time and batch as it arrives.

  2. 02

    Check the instruments

Verify the balance, calibrate the pH meter and standardise instruments before testing.

  3. 03

    Prepare reagents

Prepare reagents and standard solutions by the written method.

  4. 04

    Run the tests

Run titrations, pH, moisture, spectro or physical tests in order of priority.

  5. 05

    Record and report

Record results with method and instrument, and report out-of-specification results at once.

  6. 06

    Clean and dispose

Wash glassware, store chemicals and dispose of waste by the rules.

Machines, instruments and tools

Analytical balance
Weighs samples and reagents to fractions of a milligram.
pH and conductivity meters
For solutions, baths and water.
Burettes and titration set
Measure concentrations by titration.
Spectrometer
Analyses the chemistry of metal samples in minutes.
Hardness tester and tensile tester
Physical tests of metals and parts.

Moisture and ash tests and sample preparation.

Safety and PPE

Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.

  • Chemicals in the fume hoodHandle acids, solvents and reagents in the fume hood with gloves and goggles.
  • Acid into waterWhen diluting, always add acid to water slowly, never water to acid.
  • Broken glassDispose of broken glassware in the glass bin, never by hand into general waste.
  • Gas cylindersKeep argon and other gas cylinders chained and their valves closed when not in use.
Skill #1308 · Levels

Lab technician and chemical analyst levels, L1 Starter to L5 Master

Plants book by skill number and level. Add the numbered skills you can do; each one climbs from L1 to L5 as plants approve your shifts in it.

  1. L1Starter

Logs samples, washes glassware and assists with simple tests.

  2. L2Skilled

Runs routine tests such as pH, moisture and titration by method, with clean records.

  3. L3Proficient

Operates instruments such as the spectrometer and handles out-of-specification results correctly.

  4. L4Expert

Covers the lab’s full range of tests and helps with method and instrument checks.

  5. L5Master

A lab technician plants trust with their release testing, with a long #1308 record.

How your level rises

#1308 Lab Technician / Chemical Analyst starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:

  • Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
  • Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
  • How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.

The app shows what your next level needs.

The skill check on a shift

A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.

A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.

Licences and standards

Licences and standards for lab technician and chemical analyst work

Licences and certificates

  • #2015 GMP (Pharma) CertifiedSuperGig verifies
  • #2016 HACCP / FSSAI (Food) CertifiedSuperGig verifies

No licence is needed to add #1308. Pharma and food labs work under GMP and food-safety rules, and #2015 GMP (Pharma) Certified and #2016 HACCP / FSSAI (Food) Certified count once SuperGig has verified them.

Skills marked “SuperGig verifies” count only once SuperGig has verified them.

Tell us
What does a lab technician do in a factory?
Tests raw materials, process samples and finished products against their specifications: chemistry, pH, moisture, concentrations or physical properties, recording results that decide whether a batch is released or held.
Do I need a BSc to add this skill?
No degree is needed to add #1308; it starts at L1. Many lab technicians have a science degree or diploma, and plants set the minimum level on each shift. Your level rises from approved shifts.
Are there night or weekend lab shifts?
Process plants test samples on every shift, including nights and weekends, so when plants post #1308 work it can come at any of those times. Night shift jobs, weekend shift jobs and full-time shift work show how they are booked.
How do I get lab work near Bidadi or Jigani with SuperGig?
Add #1308 in SuperGig Partner after KYC, with any GMP or HACCP certificates for SuperGig to verify. Set your travel distance to cover Bidadi, Jigani or other hubs; when plants there post lab shifts, they show on your map with the pay. Our corridor team will reach you for further onboarding.
What is the difference between a chemical analyst and a QC inspector?
A chemical analyst tests the material itself in the lab, its chemistry and properties. A QC inspector (#1301) checks parts and products, mostly their dimensions and appearance, on the floor.
