What store keeper and inventory work involves
01What the work is
Every plant has stores, often several: raw material, bought-out parts, consumables, spares and tools. The store keeper is answerable for that stock. You receive material against the purchase order and the supplier’s challan, check quantity and condition, record the receipt and hold it for inspection when quality must clear it first. You issue material only against a signed requisition or issue slip, take unused material back on a return note, and keep every bin labelled with its part number. First in, first out matters, and so do minimum levels: you raise the alarm before the line runs short of a part.
02A shift, start to finish
On a stores shift the counter opens with the day’s receipts and the first requisitions from the line. Issues and receipts are entered as they happen, in the plant’s ERP, a WMS or a register. Quieter hours go to tidying the stores, counting fast-moving items and chasing short supplies with purchase. Before you hand over, you balance the day’s slips against the entries, lock away controlled items such as tools and spares, and note what is still pending.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
In the app this is #1703 Store Keeper / Inventory, matched to NCO-2015 4321.0100 (Store Keeper) and ISCO-08 4321, the stock clerks. The store-keeper qualifications on the national register are written for other sectors, such as petroleum and construction, so the app links none of them. The skill starts at L1 when you add it, with no licence. Stores work that is mostly system entry has its own number, #1709 WMS / SAP Inventory Operator, so a plant can ask for either or both.

How your level rises
#1703 Store Keeper / Inventory starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
