What WMS and SAP inventory work involves
01What the work is
In a plant that runs a warehouse management system (WMS) or SAP, every physical movement has a matching entry, and the inventory operator makes and checks them: goods receipts against purchase orders, issues to production orders, transfers between storage locations and bins, and returns. You print and check bin and pallet labels, run stock reports for the stores and the planners, and investigate differences between the system and the shelf: a missed scan, a wrong unit of measure, a receipt posted twice. In SAP plants this is often called MM or WM work, with screens such as MIGO for goods movements.
02A shift, start to finish
An inventory shift moves with the warehouse. Morning receipts pile up as trucks arrive, and each needs its GRN before the stock can be used; issues follow the production plan. Between postings you work through the cycle-count list, chase the reasons for differences with the store keeper and correct them through the proper adjustment, never by quietly overwriting a number. At the end, open receipts, pending transfers and blocked stock go into a short handover note for the next operator.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
In the app this is #1709 WMS / SAP Inventory Operator, matched to NCO-2015 4321.0102 (Inventory Clerk); the national qualification closest to it, Data Feeder – Warehouse, sits at NSQF level 4. It starts at L1 when you add it and needs no licence. Plants book it by number, so a shift can ask for #1709 alone or together with #1703 Store Keeper / Inventory, at the level the plant sets, and SuperGig raises yours from the #1709 shifts that plants approve.

Safety and PPE

- Rest your eyes and backLook away from the screen often, and set the chair and monitor so your back and neck stay straight.
- Your login onlyUse only your own system login and never share a password; every posting carries your name.
- Floor rules still applyWhen you walk the racks to check stock, wear safety shoes and keep to the pedestrian lanes.
- Correct, never hideReport a wrong posting at once and correct it the approved way; a hidden error becomes a stock loss.

How your level rises
#1709 WMS / SAP Inventory Operator starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
