What logistics and dispatch coordinator work involves
01What the work is
Coordination is the desk end of the warehouse. A dispatch coordinator takes the day’s orders and the production plan and turns them into a dispatch plan: which goods go to which customer, on which vehicle, in what order. You call transporters to place vehicles, check each truck is fit and the right size, brief the loading team, and follow every vehicle after it leaves until the customer confirms delivery. On the inbound side you chase suppliers’ trucks and schedule the dock so receiving does not jam. The work needs numbers, a phone, a spreadsheet and a calm head when a truck is late.
02A shift, start to finish
A coordination shift usually starts with yesterday’s loose ends: vehicles still on the road, proofs of delivery not yet back, orders held up by a shortage. Then the day’s plan: confirm stock with the stores, book or confirm vehicles and agree the loading order with the dock. As trucks arrive you check them in, get them loaded and see the paperwork done, by the documentation desk or by you. You update the dispatch register and the customer as each truck leaves, and hand over every open item at the end of the shift.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
In the app this is #1706 Logistics / Dispatch Coordinator. NCO-2015 has no dispatch-coordinator occupation outside the railways, so the app links ESCO’s distribution centre dispatcher instead, and the national Supply Chain Associate qualification at NSQF level 3. The skill starts at L1 when you add it. To be plain about it: SuperGig books shifts, not positions, so a higher level in #1706 opens shifts that ask for it and nothing more; it is not a title, a promotion or a promise of work.

Safety and PPE
Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.
- Mind the yardVehicles reverse to the dock all day: keep to marked paths and stand where drivers can see you.
- Hold back an unsafe loadStop a truck from leaving if the load is badly stacked, over height or not tied down.
- No rushing driversNever push a driver to skip rest or drive faster to make a delivery time.
- Look the truck overCheck tyres, lights and the body before a truck is loaded, and report anything unsafe.

- L3Proficient
You run a shift’s dispatch plan on your own and sort out late trucks and short stock as they happen.

- L5Master

How your level rises
#1706 Logistics / Dispatch Coordinator starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
