What IPQC and line inspector work involves
01What the work is
In-process inspection catches problems when they start, not after a whole batch is made. The IPQC inspector approves the first-off part after a set-up, a tool change or a shift start, comparing it fully with the drawing before the machine is allowed to run. Through the shift they patrol each station on a schedule, measure samples, plot the results on SPC charts that show whether a process is drifting, and check that process parameters, such as temperatures, pressures and torques, are inside their windows. They also verify the error-proofing devices, the poka-yokes, with their masters at the start of each shift, and confirm the last-off part matches before the line stops.
02A shift, start to finish
An IPQC shift is a walking job with a clipboard or tablet. You start with the patrol plan and the open issues from the last shift, approve first-offs as set-ups finish, and then work the route: measure, record, plot, look at the parts in the bins, check the work instruction is being followed. When a chart shows a trend or a point outside the limits, you stop and tell the operator and supervisor straight away, quarantine the parts made since the last good check, and record what was done. In electronics lines the same job means checking solder joints, component placement and AOI results.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
#1303 starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Plants can list #1303 on a shift with a minimum level, for example a higher level when the inspector must approve first-offs alone. SuperGig raises your level from approved #1303 shifts, verified on-time arrivals and plant ratings.

How your level rises
#1303 In-Process (IPQC) Inspector starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
