What production helper work involves
01What the work is
Every production area needs helpers. They bring bins of parts from stores to the machines, push trolleys of finished goods to quality and packing, keep the line stocked so operators never wait, remove scrap and offcuts, file or brush small burrs off parts by hand, count and pack, stick labels, and keep walkways clear and the area clean. In garment, food and packaging plants helpers fold, sort, fill trays and feed packing lines. It is physical work, on your feet for the shift, and it is where most people learn how a plant runs: where things are kept, how shifts change over and how operators and supervisors work together.
02A shift, start to finish
A helper’s shift starts by reporting to the supervisor at the line, getting the day’s task and the safety briefing, and putting on the PPE the shift lists, usually safety shoes and sometimes gloves, a cap or a hairnet. Then it is steady work: refill, move, clean, count, pack, and keep an eye on where the line is short. You use manual pallet jacks, hand trolleys and crates, and you learn which aisles are forklift routes. Helpers do not run machines they have not been briefed on. When the shift ends, the area you worked in is clean and the counts you made are written down.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
Shifts that list no skills have no skill check, so any KYC-verified Partner can book them, and #1007 is the skill to add if you are starting out. It starts at L1. Each shift a plant approves in #1007, each verified on-time arrival and each plant rating builds your record, and SuperGig raises your level from it. Many helpers also add an operator skill, such as #1001, once they have learned a machine.

- L2Skilled

- L3Proficient
Keeps material moving for a whole section and spots shortages before they stop a machine.
- L4Expert
Trusted to organise material flow for a line and show new helpers the ropes.
- L5Master
A helper plants ask for by level, with a long record of approved #1007 shifts.
How your level rises
#1007 Production Helper starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
