What rework and repacking work involves
01What the work is
Things go wrong in every plant: a batch with the wrong label, a carton count short, parts with a burr or a scratch, a customer complaint that sends a lot back. Rework teams put it right. You open the held stock, inspect each piece against the instruction, separate OK from not-OK, and do only the rework the quality team has approved, such as relabelling, cleaning or replacing a damaged inner pack. Everything is tagged as on hold, rework, rejected or OK, and the good pieces are repacked to the original standard.
02A shift, start to finish
A rework shift starts with a briefing from quality: what went wrong, how to check each piece, what may be fixed, what must be scrapped and how the lot will be released. You set up a clearly separated area so held, reworked and rejected pieces never mix, and work through the lot carton by carton, recording counts on the rework sheet. Doubtful cases go to the inspector. When the lot is done, quality checks your work before anything leaves the rework area, and the counts must add up.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
In the app this is #1806 Rework / Repack Operator, under Packing & Dispatch. No national standard is written for rework, so the app maps it to hand packing: NCO-2015 9321.0101 (Packer, Hand). It starts at L1 when you add it, without a licence. Because rework touches quality, a plant can list it with #1303 In-Process (IPQC) Inspector or #1310 Vision / Gauge Inspection Operator on the same shift, and you need every listed skill at the shift’s level.

Safety and PPE
Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.
- Open packs carefullyUse a safety cutter and cut shallow, so you damage neither the goods nor your hands.
- Burrs and sharp edgesWear cut-resistant gloves when handling machined or stamped parts.
- No unapproved fixesNever file, bend or touch up a part unless the instruction says so; it can hide a real defect.
- Tidy rework areaKeep aisles clear of opened cartons and offcuts so nobody trips.
Rework and repacking levels, L1 Starter to L5 Master
Plants book by skill number and level. Add the numbered skills you can do; each one climbs from L1 to L5 as plants approve your shifts in it.

You open, sort and repack goods under close guidance, following the rework sheet step by step.
- L2Skilled
You work a rework lot on your own, keep the tags and counts right and flag doubtful pieces.
- L3Proficient
You set up the rework area, judge defects against limit samples and keep traceability complete.
- L4Expert
You handle urgent customer returns and complex sorts, and organise the team working on a lot.
- L5Master
You train rework staff and help quality find out why the problem happened, so it does not return.
How your level rises
#1806 Rework / Repack Operator starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
