What precision and micro assembly work involves
01What the work is
Some products are built from parts too small or too delicate for a normal line: sensors, connectors, optical and camera modules, small motors, meters and gauges, watch movements and precision instruments. Precision assembly means placing those parts by hand under a stereo microscope or a magnifier, with tweezers and vacuum pens, fastening tiny screws with torque-limited drivers, dispensing exact dots of adhesive, and checking the result with gauges, test jigs or the microscope itself. Cleanliness is part of the job: dust, fibres and fingerprints can ruin a lens or a sensor, so many of these areas are clean zones with gowns, gloves and controlled air.
02A shift, start to finish
A shift starts with gowning, or the area’s clean rules, and then the station: microscope focused, tweezers and drivers checked, adhesive within its working life, parts counted into their trays. You work through the work instruction one step at a time, pick, place, align, fix and check, keeping the pace steady rather than fast, because a dropped or bent part costs more than a slow minute. Every finished unit is checked at the station and logged, rejects go to their tray with a tag, and the station is cleared at the end so no stray part can find its way into the next batch.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
#1609 sits in Assembly & Production Line and is mapped to NCO-2015 8212.0700 Assembler Precision Instrument; the app’s standards list no NSQF qualification for precision or micro assembly. It has no licence gate, so it starts at L1 when you add it, and your level rises with the precision shifts plants approve. Clean-area shifts may also list #2018 Cleanroom Protocol Certified or #2017 ESD Handling Certified, which count only once SuperGig has verified them, and close skills such as #1605 Soldering Operator.

How your level rises
#1609 Precision / Micro Assembly starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
Licences and standards for precision and micro assembly work
Licences and certificates
- #2018 Cleanroom Protocol CertifiedSuperGig verifies
- #2017 ESD Handling CertifiedSuperGig verifies
Nothing holds #1609 back at the start: it begins at L1. A clean-area shift can still ask for #2018 Cleanroom Protocol Certified or #2017 ESD Handling Certified, and a certificate counts only after SuperGig has checked it with you on a call.
Skills marked “SuperGig verifies” count only once SuperGig has verified them.
