Hydraulics and pneumatics technician jobs in Hosur & Bengaluru
Also calledhydraulic technician,hydraulic fitter,pneumatic technician,fluid power technician,hydraulic mechanic,hose fitter,hydraulic maintenance
A hydraulics and pneumatics technician maintains the oil and air systems that move machines: hydraulic power packs, valves, cylinders and hoses, and pneumatic valves, cylinders and air lines, finding why a machine is slow, weak or leaking. In SuperGig Partner this is skill #1504 Hydraulics & Pneumatics Technician: add it in My Skills, where it starts at L1, and book the shifts plants in Hosur and Bengaluru post, with the pay and the level each needs shown first.

What hydraulics and pneumatics technician work involves
01What the work is
Presses, injection moulding and die casting machines, machine tools, lifts and clamps run on hydraulics: a pump pushes oil through filters and valves to cylinders and motors, relief valves set the maximum pressure, and accumulators store energy for fast moves. Assembly stations, fixtures and packing machines run on pneumatics: compressed air through a filter-regulator-lubricator, solenoid valves and cylinders. A hydraulics and pneumatics technician reads the circuit diagram, works out why a cylinder is slow, a press loses tonnage or the oil runs hot, and fixes it: seals, hoses, valves, filters, pressure settings and air trapped in the system. People search for this as a hydraulic technician, hydraulic fitter or pneumatic technician job.
02A shift, start to finish
A typical call is a press that cannot reach pressure. You read the gauge at the test point, check the relief valve setting, the oil level and temperature, and whether the pump is delivering, then follow the circuit until the fault shows: a worn seal bypassing inside a cylinder, a valve spool sticking, a blocked suction strainer. Planned work fills the rest of the shift: changing filters and hoses on schedule, sampling or filtering oil, stopping leaks at fittings, and surveying the air network for leaks with an ultrasonic detector. Every pressure setting you touch goes back to the value the plant has on record, and the change goes in the log.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
#1504 sits in Maintenance & Mechanical and is mapped to NCO-2015 7233.2901 Fitter: Hydraulic and Pneumatic System, at NSQF level 4; in the app’s skill standard, the NSQF qualification Hydraulic & Pneumatic System Mechanic (NSQF 4) is written at about L4 Expert. It starts at L1 when you add it, with no licence gate, and rises from the hydraulics and pneumatics shifts plants approve for you. Plants often list it together with #1502 Mechanical Maintenance Fitter on breakdown shifts.
What you do on hydraulics and pneumatics technician shifts
The usual tasks of the trade. Every shift in SuperGig Partner has its own job description with the duties, so you know the work before you book.
- 01
Read the circuit
Follow the hydraulic or pneumatic diagram and its symbols to see how the machine should work.
- 02
Check pressure and flow
Use test points and gauges to find where pressure or flow is lost.
- 03
Seals and cylinders
Rebuild cylinders with new seal kits, and check rods for scoring.
- 04
Hoses and fittings
Replace hoses with the right rating and length, and stop leaks at fittings.
- 05
Oil care
Change filters, check oil condition and temperature, and keep the reservoir clean.
- 06
Air systems
Service FRL units, valves and cylinders, and tag air leaks for repair.
Machines, instruments and tools
- Pressure gauges and test-point hoses
- Read system pressure at the machine’s test points.
- Hydraulic flow meter
- Shows whether a pump or a valve is delivering what it should.
- Hose crimping machine
- Makes up hose assemblies with the right fittings.
- Seal kits and seal picks
- Rebuild cylinders and valves without scratching the grooves.
- Oil filtration cart
- Cleans and transfers hydraulic oil.
- Nitrogen charging kit
- Checks and sets accumulator pre-charge by procedure.
- Ultrasonic leak detector
- Finds compressed air leaks along the network.
Safety and PPE
Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.
- Never feel for a leakA pinhole jet of hydraulic oil can pierce skin: look for leaks with a piece of card, never your hand.
- Release stored pressureStop the pump, release accumulators and bleed the lines before you open any fitting.
- Block raised loadsRams and platforms can drop when pressure falls: support them mechanically before work.
- Hot oil and whipping hosesLet the oil cool, and keep clear of any hose under pressure.
Hydraulics and pneumatics technician levels, L1 Starter to L5 Master
Plants book by skill number and level. Add the numbered skills you can do; each one climbs from L1 to L5 as plants approve your shifts in it.
- L1Starter
Helps a technician: cleans, fetches parts and tops up oil while learning the plant’s machines and circuits.
- L2Skilled
Changes hoses, seals, filters and pneumatic fittings on familiar machines, with a senior checking the job.
- L3Proficient
Reads the circuit diagram and finds common hydraulic and pneumatic faults alone.
- L4Expert
Handles non-routine work on pumps, proportional valves and accumulators and guides helpers; the NSQF qualification Hydraulic and Pneumatic System Mechanic (NSQF 4) is written at about this level.
- L5Master
Guides, mentors and trains other technicians, checks their work and helps the plant cut leaks and oil failures.
How your level rises
#1504 Hydraulics & Pneumatics Technician starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
Licences and standards for hydraulics and pneumatics technician work
Licences and certificates
- #2008 Hot Work / LOTO CertifiedSuperGig verifies
#1504 has no licence gate: it starts at L1 when you add it. Hydraulic and pneumatic jobs begin with isolating stored energy, so shifts can list #2008 Hot Work / LOTO Certified.
Skills marked “SuperGig verifies” count only once SuperGig has verified them.
