Also calledbattery pack assembly operator,EV battery assembly,lithium-ion battery assembly, battery module assembly, cell sorting operator, battery assembler,EV battery line operator
An EV battery pack assembler builds lithium-ion packs on a line: testing and sorting cells, stacking modules, joining busbars, wiring the BMS, closing the pack and running its tests, with strict safety at every station. In SuperGig Partner this is skill #1606 EV Battery Pack Assembly: add it in My Skills, where it starts at L1, and book the battery line shifts plants in Hosur and Bengaluru post, with the pay and the level each needs shown first.

What EV battery pack assembly work involves
01What the work is
An EV battery pack starts as hundreds or thousands of cells, cylindrical, prismatic or pouch, that must be matched before they are joined. Cells are tested for voltage and internal resistance and sorted into grades, then placed into holders or stacked with insulation and thermal pads into modules. Busbars or nickel strips join them, usually by laser or resistance welding on automated stations that operators load and watch. BMS sense wires are connected in exactly the order the work instruction gives, modules go into the enclosure with their fasteners torqued, and the closed pack is tested for insulation, BMS communication and charge and discharge behaviour before it is labelled and shipped. People search for this as battery pack assembly, lithium-ion battery assembly or EV battery line work.
02A shift, start to finish
A battery line shift starts with safety: no rings or watches, insulated tools checked, ESD straps tested, and a look at where the quarantine area and the fire kit are. At a cell sorting station you load cells, read their grades and place them in the right trays; at module stations you stack, insulate and load the welder; at the pack station you connect harnesses in sequence and torque fasteners with insulated tools. Any cell or module that is dented, swollen or hot goes to quarantine at once. Each step is scanned, so every pack carries a record of its cells, its welds and its tests.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
#1606 sits in Assembly & Production Line and is mapped to NCO-2015 8212.0100 Battery Assembler, at NSQF level 4; in the app’s skill standard, the NSQF qualification Battery System Assembly Operator (NSQF 4) is written at about L4 Expert. It has no licence gate, so it starts at L1 when you add it, and your level rises with the battery shifts plants approve. Diagnosing and repairing packs is a separate skill, #1409 EV Battery / BMS Technician.
What you do on EV battery pack assembly shifts
The usual tasks of the trade. Every shift in SuperGig Partner has its own job description with the duties, so you know the work before you book.
- 01
Test and sort cells
Load cells into the tester, read voltage and internal resistance, and sort them by grade.
- 02
Stack modules
Stack cells with insulation and thermal pads in the order the instruction sets.
- 03
Join busbars
Load and watch the laser or resistance welding station that joins the cells.
- 04
Wire the BMS
Connect sense wires and harnesses in the exact sequence, never out of order.
- 05
Close the pack
Fit modules, seals and covers, and torque fasteners with insulated tools.
- 06
Test and label
Run the insulation and functional tests, then label and scan the pack.
Machines, instruments and tools
- Cell tester
- Measures open-circuit voltage and internal resistance for sorting.
- Laser or resistance welding station
- Joins busbars and strips to the cells.
- Insulated torque tools
- Tighten fasteners safely near live cells.
- Insulation (hipot) tester
- Proves the pack is isolated from its case.
- BMS test software and laptop
- Checks the BMS reads every cell group.
- Barcode scanner and label printer
- Record the cells, welds and tests of each pack.
Safety and PPE
Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.
- Cells are always liveA tool dropped across terminals can short a module: use insulated tools and keep loose metal off the stack.
- Quarantine damageMove a dented, swollen or hot cell or module to quarantine at once, and never try to use it.
- ESD and the BMSBMS boards are static-sensitive: test your straps; #2017 ESD Handling Certified is a certificate SuperGig verifies.
- Sequence is safetyConnect sense wires and harnesses only in the order given; connecting out of order can damage the BMS.
EV battery pack assembly levels, L1 Starter to L5 Master
Plants book by skill number and level. Add the numbered skills you can do; each one climbs from L1 to L5 as plants approve your shifts in it.
- L1Starter
Sorts and labels cells and loads simple fixtures under supervision, learning the safety rules of a battery line.
- L2Skilled
Works module stacking and insulation stations at line pace and checks their own work.
- L3Proficient
Works across module stations alone and connects BMS harnesses to sequence.
- L4Expert
Closes packs, runs end-of-line checks and handles non-routine issues, and guides others; the NSQF qualification Battery System Assembly Operator (NSQF 4) is written at about this level.
- L5Master
Guides, mentors and trains other operators, checks their work and helps the line keep its battery safety practice strong.
How your level rises
#1606 EV Battery Pack Assembly starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
Licences and standards for EV battery pack assembly work
Licences and certificates
- #2017 ESD Handling CertifiedSuperGig verifies
- #2010 Fire Warden / Fire Safety CertifiedSuperGig verifies
#1606 starts at L1 when you add it: no licence gate. Battery lines may list #2017 ESD Handling Certified for BMS work, or #2010 Fire Warden / Fire Safety Certified, because lithium-ion cells carry a fire risk.
Skills marked “SuperGig verifies” count only once SuperGig has verified them.
