The work

What end-of-line test operator work involves

01What the work is

The end-of-line test is the last check a product gets before a customer. Depending on the product, the station checks that an electronic unit powers up and does its job, that a motor turns at the right speed and current, that a casting, valve or engine part holds pressure in a leak test, that a charger or appliance passes high-voltage insulation (hipot) and earth tests, or that a vehicle part works with its sensors and software. Most tests are run by a test program: the operator connects the product to the fixture, starts the test, watches the result and handles passes and fails exactly as the instruction says, with every result stored against the serial number. People search for this as EOL test operator, final test operator or testing operator work.

02A shift, start to finish

A test shift starts with the station: fixture and cables checked, and a daily check with a known good sample and, where the plant uses one, a known bad sample to prove the tester catches faults. Then each unit: scan the serial, connect it, start the program, watch for a clean pass, label it and move it on. A fail is never retested over and over until it passes; it is tagged with its fail code, moved to the fail rack and handed to repair or quality. When fails start to cluster, you tell the line leader, because the line may be making the same fault again and again.

03Your skill in SuperGig Partner

#1610 sits in Assembly & Production Line and is mapped to NCO-2015 3113.0802 Final Testing Technician, the nearest code; the app’s standards list no NSQF qualification for it. It has no licence gate, so it starts at L1 when you add it, and your level rises with the test shifts plants approve. Repairing the units that fail is #1408 Electronics Test & Repair Technician, and checking finished goods by inspection is #1304 Final / OQC Inspector.

On the shift

What you do on end-of-line test operator shifts

The usual tasks of the trade. Every shift in SuperGig Partner has its own job description with the duties, so you know the work before you book.

  1. 01

    Daily station check

Prove the tester with a known good sample, and a known bad one where the plant uses it.

  2. 02

    Scan and connect

Scan the serial and connect the unit to the fixture the right way round.

  3. 03

    Run the test

Start the program and watch each step through to a pass or a fail.

  4. 04

    Handle fails properly

Tag each fail with its code and move it to the fail rack; never retest to force a pass.

  5. 05

    Leak and safety tests

Run leak, hipot and earth tests with the station’s guards and interlocks in place.

  6. 06

    Raise clusters

Tell the line leader when the same fail keeps coming back.

Machines, instruments and tools

Functional test station and fixture
Powers the unit and runs the test program.
Hipot and earth bond tester
Checks insulation and earthing on mains-powered products.
Air-decay or helium leak tester
Proves a part or an assembly holds pressure.
Known good and known bad samples
Prove the tester works at the start of the shift.
Barcode scanner and labels
Tie each result to its serial number.
Fail tags and fail rack
Keep failed units apart until repair or quality decides.

Safety and PPE

Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.

  • High-voltage testsHipot tests use high voltage: keep the guard closed and your hands off until the test ends.
  • Respect interlocksNever bypass a test station’s door switch, light curtain or two-hand start.
  • Pressure and moving partsLeak and motor tests hold pressure or spin parts: wait for the station to finish before you reach in.
  • Lifting unitsUse the lift aid to move heavy units onto and off the fixture.

End-of-line test operator levels, L1 Starter to L5 Master

Plants book by skill number and level. Add the numbered skills you can do; each one climbs from L1 to L5 as plants approve your shifts in it.

  1. L1Starter

Loads and unloads units, scans serials and runs simple tests under supervision, learning what a pass and a fail look like.

  2. L2Skilled

Runs the station alone at line pace and handles fails exactly as the instruction says.

  3. L3Proficient

Runs the daily station checks, spots clusters of fails and explains them to the line leader.

  4. L4Expert

Runs several types of test, handles non-routine results with the quality and repair teams, and guides others.

  5. L5Master

Guides, mentors and trains other test operators, checks their records and helps keep the test instructions right.

How your level rises

#1610 End-of-Line Test Operator starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:

  • Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
  • Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
  • How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.

The app shows what your next level needs.

The skill check on a shift

A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.

A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.

Licences and certificates

  • #2017 ESD Handling CertifiedSuperGig verifies

There is no licence gate on #1610: it starts at L1. Test stations for electronic units often ask for #2017 ESD Handling Certified, and that certificate counts for a shift only once SuperGig has checked it with you on a call.

Skills marked “SuperGig verifies” count only once SuperGig has verified them.

Tell us
What does an end-of-line test operator do?
Runs the final tests on finished products: connects each unit to the test station, runs the program, labels passes and tags fails, and records every result against the serial number. Typical tests are functional checks, leak tests, high-voltage insulation and earth tests, and motor or sensor checks.
What is a hipot test?
A high-potential test that puts a high voltage between a product’s live parts and its case to prove the insulation holds. It is standard for mains-powered products such as chargers and appliances. Test stations have guards and interlocks because of that voltage, and you never bypass them.
Why can’t I retest a failed unit until it passes?
Because a unit that fails once may have a real fault that only shows some of the time, and passing it on can send that fault to a customer. The plant decides how a fail is handled, usually by tagging it and sending it to repair or quality. Following that rule is part of #1610 at every level.
Are there full-time, night or weekend test shifts?
When plants post them. The test station runs as long as the line runs, so where lines work two or three shifts, testing does too. In the app you can book weekly repeats or a multi-day run of up to 31 days. See full-time shift work, night shift jobs and weekend shift jobs.
How do I get end-of-line test work near Dabaspet with SuperGig?
Pre-register on this page for the SuperGig Partner app (Android, direct onboarding). Complete KYC with Aadhaar and PAN, add #1610, and set a travel distance in My Availability that reaches Dabaspet, Nelamangala or Doddaballapura. Test shifts near you then show on the Find Shifts map with their pay, skills and gate.
Is test operator work a good first job?
It can be. Running a test station to a clear instruction is L1 work, and #1610 starts at L1, so you learn the product, its faults and the plant’s quality rules quickly. See jobs for freshers and helpers, and remember the app’s promise: “You never pay to work here. Ever. No fees, no deposits, no agents.”
