What picker packer work involves
01What the work is
Picking is a walking job with a scanner in your hand. The system or a printed pick list sends you to locations in a set order; at each one you scan the location, take the exact quantity of the right item and scan it into your tote or trolley. Some warehouses pick one order at a time, others batch several orders together or split the floor into zones. At the packing bench you check every item against the order, choose the right box, add padding and the invoice, seal it and apply the shipping label. Accuracy counts more than speed: a wrong item means a return and an unhappy customer.
02A shift, start to finish
A shift begins at the start-up briefing, where the supervisor shares the day’s volume and the dispatch cut-off times. You collect a charged scanner and a trolley and work through the pick tasks wave by wave, reporting empty or damaged locations as you find them. Packing builds up before each cut-off, so pickers often move to the bench then. Finished parcels go to the staging lane for their route or courier, and before you leave you return the scanner, put back unused items and hand over open tasks.
03Your skill in SuperGig Partner
In the app this is #1802 Pick & Pack Associate, under Packing & Dispatch, matched to NCO-2015 4321.0601 (Warehouse Picker). The national Warehouse Associate qualification at NSQF level 3 covers the same picking work. The skill starts at L1 when you add it and needs no licence. Because it sits between the shelves and the packing table, a plant can list it alongside #1702 Warehouse Associate or #1801 Packing Operator, and you need every skill on the shift at its level to book.

How your level rises
#1802 Pick & Pack Associate starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
