CNC machine operator jobs in Hosur & Bengaluru

Also calledCNC operator,CNC machinist,CNC machine operator,CNC operator trainee,CNC lathe and milling operator,CNC job

A CNC operator loads parts into computer-controlled turning centres and machining centres, runs the program, measures the first and every few parts, and adjusts wear offsets and inserts so the batch stays within tolerance. In SuperGig Partner this is skill #1101: add it after KYC and book the CNC shifts machine shops and plants in Hosur and Bengaluru post, with the pay shown before you book.

The work

What CNC machine operator work involves

01What the work is

#1101 CNC Operator is the general CNC skill in the catalogue: it covers running both CNC turning centres and vertical machining centres from a program someone else has written and proved. The operator clamps the part in the chuck, collet or fixture, calls up the program, checks the tools in the turret or magazine, and presses cycle start. While the machine cuts, the operator deburrs and measures the previous part, keeps an eye on chips and coolant, and listens for the change in sound that means a worn or chipped insert. Specialist skills sit beside it: #1103 for turning, #1104 for VMC work and #1102 for programming.

02A shift, start to finish

A CNC shift starts with the hand-over, the inspection report format and the first-off approval: the first part of the shift, or after any tool change, is measured fully and signed off before the batch runs. Then it is load, cycle start, unload, deburr, measure at the frequency the control plan sets, and record the readings. When a size drifts towards its limit, you change the wear offset within the range the setter allows or index the insert, and you check the next part before carrying on. Broken tools, alarms you do not understand and crashes go to the setter. The shift ends with the machine cleaned, chips cleared and the counts and readings handed over.

03Your skill in SuperGig Partner

In SuperGig Partner, #1101 starts at L1. Plants can post CNC shifts with a minimum level, so a plant running a simple, proven job may book at L1 or L2, while a job with tight tolerances and frequent offset changes may ask for more. SuperGig raises your level from approved #1101 shifts, verified on-time arrivals and plant ratings.

On the shift

What you do on CNC machine operator shifts

The usual tasks of the trade. Every shift in SuperGig Partner has its own job description with the duties, so you know the work before you book.

  1. 01

    Load and clamp

Clamp the part in the chuck, collet or fixture against its locators, with no chips under it.

  2. 02

    Run the proven program

Call the right program, check the tool numbers and press cycle start.

  3. 03

    First-off approval

Measure the first part fully and get it signed off before running the batch.

  4. 04

    Measure as you run

Check sizes with micrometers, bore gauges and plug gauges at the set frequency.

  5. 05

    Offsets and inserts

Adjust wear offsets within the allowed range and index or change worn inserts.

  6. 06

    Record and hand over

Write readings, counts and tool changes, and brief the next operator.

Machines, instruments and tools

CNC turning centre
Turns shafts, flanges and bushes from bar or blanks.
Vertical machining centre
Mills, drills and taps housings, brackets and plates.
Carbide inserts and holders
The cutting edges that wear and need indexing during a batch.
Micrometers and bore gauges
Measure outside and inside diameters to the drawing.
Plug, ring and thread gauges
Quick go/no-go checks of holes, shafts and threads.
Height gauge and surface plate
Measure heights, steps and positions on milled parts.

Safety and PPE

Every plant sets its own safety rules. A shift can list what to bring or wear and the hard parts of the work, so read it before you book.

  • Doors shut while cuttingNever open the door or override the interlock while the spindle runs.
  • No gloves at the spindleGloves and loose sleeves can be pulled in by a rotating chuck or cutter.
  • Chips are sharpClear chips with a hook or brush, never with bare hands or compressed air at your face.
  • Coolant careWash coolant off your skin and report coolant mist or a bad smell.
Skill #1101 · Levels

CNC machine operator levels, L1 Starter to L5 Master

Plants book by skill number and level. Add the numbered skills you can do; each one climbs from L1 to L5 as plants approve your shifts in it.

  1. L1Starter

Loads parts, runs a proven program and measures with simple gauges under a setter’s eye.

  2. L2Skilled

Runs a machine through the shift with first-off checks, regular measuring and clean records.

  3. L3Proficient

Adjusts wear offsets and changes inserts confidently and keeps a batch inside tolerance.

  4. L4Expert

Runs turning and machining centres alike, handles minor alarms and helps with set-ups.

  5. L5Master

An operator plants trust with tight-tolerance jobs on any CNC in the shop, with a long #1101 record.

How your level rises

#1101 CNC Operator starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:

  • Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
  • Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
  • How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.

The app shows what your next level needs.

The skill check on a shift

A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.

A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.

Licences and standards

Licences and standards for CNC machine operator work

Practices that go with the work

  • #2014 ISO 9001 / IATF 16949Practice

No licence is needed to add #1101. Machine shops that supply auto plants usually work to IATF 16949 control plans, a practice rather than a licence.

Questions

Asked to pay for a shift?

Don’t pay. SuperGig never charges Partners to join or to get a shift.

Tell us
What is the difference between a CNC operator and a CNC programmer?
The operator runs a program that is already proven: loading, measuring, adjusting offsets and changing inserts. The CNC programmer (#1102) writes the program, sets up the tools and work offsets, and proves the first part.
Do I need ITI to get CNC operator shifts?
No certificate is needed to add #1101; it starts at L1. An ITI machinist, turner or fitter course, or a diploma, helps you read drawings and measure well. In the app, plants book on the skill number and level, and your level rises from approved shifts.
Are there night shift CNC jobs or full-time CNC shifts?
Machine shops often run CNCs in two or three shifts, so when plants post #1101 work you can find night shifts, weekly repeats and runs of up to 31 days, as well as single days. The ways those are booked are on night shift jobs and full-time shift work.
How do I get CNC operator work near Jigani or Bommasandra with SuperGig?
Join as a Partner, do KYC with your Aadhaar and PAN, and add #1101, plus #1103 or #1104 if you specialise. Bommasandra on Hosur Road and Jigani beside it are known for engineering and auto-component units; set your travel distance to cover them, and their CNC shifts will show on your map with the pay when they are posted. Our corridor team will reach you for further onboarding.
Should I add CNC Operator or the VMC and turning skills?
Add every one you can do. #1101 is the general CNC skill; #1103 CNC Turning Operator and #1104 CNC Milling / VMC Operator are specialist skills plants can ask for by number. Each climbs its own levels.
