What kitting and sub-assembly work involves
01What the work is
Main assembly lines run smoothly only when every station has the right parts at the right moment. Kitting operators pick parts from the stores or the supermarket racks into a kit, a tray, a box or a trolley holding exactly the parts one unit or one station needs, check it against the kit list, and deliver it to the line on time. Sub-assembly operators build the smaller assemblies the main line fits in one go, such as a wiring loom on a bracket, a door module, a pump with its fittings or a gear set, at a bench or a cell beside the line. Both jobs are about accuracy: a missing screw or a wrong variant in a kit stops a station later. People search for this as kitting operator, line feeder or sub-assembly operator work.
02A shift, start to finish
A kitting shift follows the line’s build plan. You print or open the kit list for the next units, pick each part from its location, scan it where the plant uses scanning, count it and place it in its marked slot in the kit. Before a kit leaves, you check it is complete, label it and deliver it in the order the line will build. On sub-assembly, you build to the work instruction at your bench, check each assembly and stack it on the line-side rack, staying enough ahead of the main line without overbuilding. Shortages and wrong parts are reported straight away, so the stores can act before the line runs dry.

How your level rises
#1611 Sub-Assembly / Kitting Operator starts at L1 when you add it in My Skills. Each skill climbs from L1 to L5. Only SuperGig sets a level, from your record, never the app. Three things move it up:
- Approved shifts in the skillShifts a plant approved that listed this skill when it was posted.
- Arriving on timeAn arrival SuperGig verified, such as the WorkPass check at the gate.
- How plants rate your workIt counts once a plant has rated you. Before that it never holds you back.
The app shows what your next level needs.
The skill check on a shift
A plant can list skills on a shift with one minimum level for all of them, from L1 to L5. You need every listed skill at that level, and SuperGig checks yours before the booking is accepted.
A shift with no skills listed has no skill check: any KYC-verified Partner can book it.
